Romance in Sovereign Tower is gated by affinity, free-time conversations and specific story choices — and several routes have hidden conditions the game never tells you about.
NOTE
How romance works
- Affinity gates free-time conversations, which is how you unlock most of a knight's story — including romance scenes.
- Assign liked quests (+1.33 each), feed favourite meals (+1.5) and match the knight's liked sovereign archetype to raise affinity safely.
- Romance options appear in dialogue once a knight's story has progressed far enough; pushing affinity without story progress stalls the route.

The most common cause is stalled affinity or story. Check the knight's affinity isn't stuck, keep liked assignments coming and advance their story via free-time conversations.
